New Dining Experience Opens at The Met

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is thrilled to announce a major culinary partnership that will completely transform the museum's dining options. 'The Petrie Court Pavilion,' a completely redesigned fine-dining restaurant, has officially opened, offering visitors a world-class gastronomic experience that rivals the masterpieces hanging in the surrounding galleries.

The museum has partnered with an internationally renowned, multi-Michelin-starred chef to develop the menu. The culinary philosophy is deeply rooted in sustainability and local sourcing, utilizing seasonal ingredients from farms located within a 100-mile radius of New York City. This commitment to regional agriculture reflects the museum's broader environmental initiatives.

The architectural design of the restaurant is as breathtaking as the food. The space has been entirely renovated by an award-winning design firm to maximize the stunning, panoramic views of Central Park. The interior features custom-designed, sustainably harvested wood furnishings and subtle, ambient lighting that allows the natural beauty of the park to serve as the primary visual focus.

The menu is highly innovative, offering a modern interpretation of classic American and European dishes. Diners can expect incredibly intricate, multi-course tasting menus alongside a highly curated, extensive wine list featuring rare vintages from small-production, biodynamic vineyards. The restaurant also offers an elegant, traditional afternoon tea service.

Recognizing that a museum visit is a full-day experience, The Met has also overhauled its casual dining options. The cafeteria has been replaced by a bustling 'Artisan Food Hall' featuring diverse, affordable options from local New York City food vendors, ensuring that visitors of all budgets can enjoy high-quality, delicious meals during their visit.
